TAPESTRIES
The structural heart of tapestry weaving is the right angle crossing of threads. As the warp is slowly covered by the weft, this interaction of the threads in the exquisite order of the grid remains, offering infinite freedom to play within its framework. This immersion of color and form through the warp 'canvas' gives the tapestries a richness and depth. The rhythm of the weaving process is expressed in the undulations of weft wool threads over and under the cotton warp creating a lush tactile surface. There is movement and stillness interwoven in this vibrant, supple medium.
